At OCSI, Katie works on the Research Team to analyse data for bespoke research projects and support with data updates for our Local Insight tool.
This is Katie’s first full-time role after studying to become a Master of Research. She has previous experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Sussex, as well as completing a couple of research internships: one with Community Wood Recycling whereby she led on a research project which involved interviewing workers in the construction industry in order to design a mental health support service, and the other with the University of Sussex where she assisted a member of faculty with code, code annotation and data analysis using RStudio.

At OCSI, Katie has led a number of large research projects, including Area Needs Analyses for a number of Community Foundations, as well as research papers for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) covering various themes and how they impact residents living in Left Behind Neighbourhoods.
Katie also specialises in communicating complex research topics and analysis to both internal and external stakeholders. She regularly represents OCSI at conferences, developing and running webinars for large organisations such as the Health Equity Network and 360Giving; and has recently been a guest lecturer at the University of Westminster on social research methods.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys going to gigs, whipping up a storm in the kitchen, and drinking copious amounts of tea.
