The English Indices of Deprivation 2025 (IoD 2025) have now been published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
OCSI and Deprivation.org were commissioned by MHCLG to update these crucial datasets. This is the third consecutive iteration we have led on and we are so pleased the data is now in the public domain for people to use.
The project remit was to review, update, enhance and develop the Indices of Deprivation from its previous 2019 release. This includes consideration of the Department’s 2022 user consultation and recent changes to the policy and data landscapes, such as changes to the benefits system due to the roll out of Universal Credit, the impacts of the pandemic, the current cost-of-living pressures, and deprivation in rural areas.
The data and accompanying guidance is freely available to download from gov.uk
