Electoral Ward/Division

Definition

An electoral ward (often referred to as a division in county councils) is the smallest unit of electoral geography in the UK. Wards are used to elect councillors to local authorities, with their boundaries set by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE). Wards often group together neighbourhoods or communities and serve as fundamental units for statistical reporting and political representation.
