BHLIS, the ‘Brighton & Hove Local Intelligence Service’ is a redeveloped version of the original CityStats observatory, which is nationally recognised as a model of good practice. It supports users across Brighton and Hove working in areas of research, intelligence, policy and performance. The service allows users to find, explore and use a wide range of facts and figures at different geographic levels across the city, and also holds relevant documents and reports.
OCSI led on the initial consultation and specification phases of the redevelopment, identifying the functionality and datasets required by users to ensure it provided the key datasets relevant to local policy areas. OCSI also developed the initial upload of nationally published indicators into the new system. The technical development of the system was carried out by project partner Geowise.
