Supporting neighbourhood-level targeting for Local Area Agreements

The Local Area Agreements agenda critically requires local partners to effectively assess and monitor the impacts of partnership programmes across their areas. The Department for Communities and Local Government commissioned OCSI to examine indicators for target setting and performance assessment at neighbourhood level, in the context of the data needs emerging from the LAA process. Part of the work developed guidance and “practical solutions” to support local partners in using small area data.

The full report ‘Assessing Neighbourhood-Level Data for Target Setting’ provides our assessment of how appropriate small area datasets are for target setting, performance monitoring and wider contextual analysis. The report is available from www.communities.gov.uk/documents/localgovernment/pdf/932312.pdf

An additional report ‘Practical Guides for Using Neighbourhood-Level Data’ gives advice on using neighbourhood-level data to support regeneration activities. The report is available from  www.communities.gov.uk/documents/localgovernment/pdf/932145.pdf.
