Updating the Indices of Deprivation – Your Views

We have been commissioned by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to update the Indices of Deprivation, including the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD), for publication in summer 2015. We are delighted to give you the opportunity to have your say and inform the future direction of the work.

We are keen to hear users’ views early in the process, via this online survey which aims to:

  • Improve understanding of who uses the Indices of Deprivation and how they are used, and
  • Invite ideas for updating and strengthening the Indices.

The survey closes at midnight on Friday 1st August.

The survey is being run by NatCen Social Research. Survey responses will be shared with OCSI and DCLG, and will be considered in the development of proposals for updating the Indices and will inform our understanding of who uses the Indices and their needs. We will be consulting on final proposals for updating the Indices later this year.
