With Christmas now just a distant memory, we are back and raring to go! 2017 is set to be a busy year; filled with exciting developments for our products and research. As always, we continue to provide tools, analysis and support to organisations working for social good.

Local Insight

Local Insight provides instant access to the community data that research teams need. Our users range from local authorities to children’s centres providers to transport authorities. Each are using Local Insight for their own goals, but a common thread among all our users is providing rigorous analysis of local areas to better target resources.

Local Insight is helping organisations to:

  • Plan, commission and deliver services based on solid, timely evidence
  • Encourage “self-service” by users inside and outside of their organisation and avoid bottlenecks
  • Be confident that everybody is using consistent and up-to-date data.

We will be publishing case studies from our user base over the year – so watch this space!

Simplicity is the key to Local Insight. We help you and your team spend time using data, rather than wasting time, feeding and maintaining a system. Register for a free trial, and see for yourself how Local Insight can boost the capacity of your team.

Our Community Insight tool, developed in partnership with HACT celebrates its 5th birthday this year (sounds like an excuse for cake…)! The tool has come along way in 5 years, with more than 70 housing association’s making use of over 700 datasets, instant custom reports, and fast and easy mapping of their entire housing stock.

For 2017, we look forward to continuing to work with housing associations to ensure that Community Insight meets the needs of all our users in a changing and complex landscape. If you work in the housing sector, and want to see how Community Insight could help you, register for a free demo now.

Value Insight

The sister tool to Community Insight, Value Insight enables subscribers to understand, measure and map the social impact of their community investment activities, and their full impact on the local economy. As with all our Insight products, we aim to give our users a structured, yet simple, user-friendly experience that lets people get on with their jobs.

Throughout 2017, we will be working in partnership with HACT and the community of users to help track social impact in even more useful ways. To find out more, get in touch with the team at HACT

Research and consultancy

As well as working hard to develop our suite of products further, we are also looking forward to using our expertise in data and research in bespoke projects that support organisations and government agencies in making evidence based decisions. Last year we worked on some fascinating projects including:

  • supporting work on using train stations as local service hubs
  • working on data visualisation projects for LSE and the Food Issue Census
  • advising on the evidence base for the Sunderland City of Culture bid
  • providing data and reporting to Islington Play Association to strengthen their funding bids
  • providing health and social data for community planning at small area level in the US
  • undertaking a review of inequality across Brighton.

We’re looking forward to doing even more in 2017, working with great organisations to improve local services through data and evidence.

If you would like to work with us in 2017,  we would love to hear from you

Community Insight has now been retired.
